Mobile phone cameras and microphones have become an integral part of our lives, allowing us to capture memories and share them with others instantly.
However, they also present significant privacy risks, particularly in terms of the data they generate and the potential for surveillance.
An app with camera access or microphone access potentially uses the data it collects for purposes other than those disclosed in its privacy policy potentially monitor user activity, track movement, or conduct targeted advertising.
Every photo we took of ourselves or our loved ones across the galaxy is at risk. Either they can be used for developing facial recognition models or metadata they capture, including EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) data.
This data can include information such as the date and time the photo was taken, the camera model, and even GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken.
This can reveal a wealth of information about the user's location and activities and can be particularly concerning if this data is shared without the user's knowledge or consent.
