Email Tracking
Almost all emails today are sent and read in HTML. You can think of an HTML email like a static web page with text formatting, custom fonts, and most importantly, embedded images.
Don't worry, email tracking doesn't mean someone has read all of our personal emails.
Therefore, the pixel technology I mentioned above means that when you open an e-mail, your device can send a request to the pixel server depending on the e-mail client you use.
They usually contain information about which email was opened and which email address it was originally sent to.
But the real risk here is that about 30% of emails leak this information to third-party tracking technologies. Also, about 80% of leaked data happens over untrusted, unencrypted HTTP.
