Pixels
Pixels are pieces of HTML code that allow a website to collect information about its visitors. Compared to cookies, it can work without being loaded on users' browsers.
It can send the obtained information directly to the web server and it is not as easy as cookies for users to disable this tracking technology.
Cookies can be rejected by users before they are installed on users' browsers. However, when Pixel is embedded on a website or in an email message to monitor user behavior, users have no control over these technologies.
Many personal data such as IP address, session information, screen resolution, display time, browser information, and cookie information about users can be obtained through a pixel.
Ad networks can use this technology to follow users on different sites and to show personalized advertisements. A particular problem occurs with the Facebook Pixel.
I have shared the sample tracking code for Facebook Pixel below.
The fact that the data collected from Facebook's pixel feature is not anonymous and can be linked to individual users, usually by name, leads to serious data breaches.
